22 Jul Territorial Vineyards & Wine Company
Back in 2001, 4th generation Oregonian Alan Mitchell and his wife April teamed up with Jeff & Victoria Wilson-Charles to create Territorial Vineyards & Wine Company, located at the corner of Third and Adams in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood. With a combined 45 plus years experience in growing grapes at their respective vineyards in Lane County, Jeff and Alan farm sustainably and grow for quality above all else.
With the mad skills of winemaker Ray Walsh, Territorial Wines are built almost exclusively from estate-owned and estate-managed vineyards within a 30 mile radius of the downtown winery.
The two main estate vineyards, Bellpine and Equinox, provide a unique blending palate from which complex, concentrated and deeply soul-satisfying wines are derived year after year. Consisting of 6 different clonal selections of Pinot Noir, the two sites also bring pronounced differences in meso-climate to the table. Equinox, being a higher elevation vineyard, yields pinots of a more elegant nature with complex acid profiles and brighter fruit qualities. Bellpine, being slightly warmer, shows more new-world characters of rounder, darker fruits and overall juiciness. When crafted and blended by Ray in just the right proportions, with just the right amount of French Oak, the results can be truly transformative.
Visit the Urban Wine Room and see for yourself! Open Wednesday through Saturday at 5pm featuring Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, dry Rose along with local craft beers and cider on draught. Enjoy local live music Thursday and Friday nights.
